GCP: Putt Stuff 2023! - Bonus w/ Miss Washington USA

The time has arrived!!! They recorded this episode during the first annual GCP Putt Stuff at Parkland Putters. This episode also has a bonus episode at the end where they coincidently run into Miss Washington USA while enjoying the after-party.

00:41 – Derek kicks off this episode by announcing the news that it’s finally time for Putt Stuff, Justin talks about how long the idea has been out there, and they talk about the prizes they have to offer the players. Jeff goes through the various GCP certificates he made, Justin reflects on Scott’s infamous accident, and gives props to his wife for making the amazing trophy.

13:50 – Justin welcomes Not-Derek, the GCP sports guy Erik. Erik talks about prepping for the event, and talks about plans to do Unleashed at The Stadium next month. Scott shares what’s in the gift bag that was put together for each player. Erik shares his expectations for the event and Scott talks about the new GCP shirts they picked up from Shroom Brothers.

25:09 – Cnote scores a whole in one, Derek one as well, and Justin gives reviews from the back nine. They talk about the holes they topped out at, Michelle shares her secret to scoring, and players share how they ended up on hole six. Justin talks about his love of the course, Jeff talks about his golf style, and gave his thoughts on the front nine.

37:57 – Justin reflects on winning the classic trophy back in the day, thanks everyone for attending, and announces the winners of the certificates. Derek announces the ranking of the teams and Miss Washington USA talks about what brought her to Tacoma that day. She shares the amazing work Adorned Bridal Affordable Bridal Fashion does to fight human trafficking and other charities she volunteers for.

Quarantined - Episode 2

Brogan, Justin, and Scott sit down for another Quarantined conversation. They were joined by some live listeners and returning guests on the GCP Discord.

01:25 – Conversation kicks off with Brogan announcing his learning of a second language, Justin talks about the conspiracy behind his internet slow down at 6 PM, and things he’s been frustrated over in the past week. He share’s how fortunate he is during the quarantine, things that have been going on in the South Sound area, and Scott shares the local beer he’s drinking. They talk about “essential” businesses, Justin talks about what he and his wife have done to prep, and Justin shares the happy hour shots he’s been doing. He gives a shout out in honor of Norwescon, questions what businesses will be coming back as the virus dies down, and they discuss potential shows that Netflix is cancelling.

16:35 – They tell listeners how they can find them on Discord, Justin encourages to submit coaster questions and where to do so, and Brogan gives a brief review of using his air fryer. Justin talks about things he and his wife have been making in his Instant Pot, he throws out some “Would You Rather” questions, and each one shares if they are shaving and/or wearing clothes during Coronavirus. Justin talks about the return of Lime Scooters, Scott explains what Discord is, and talks about what David Thompson from Food Is Free has been up to.

32:04 – Brogan returns with his Bloody Mary, Scott suggests they have Biff back on from Biff’s BBQ Sauce, Scott shares that he enjoys pickle juice in his Bloody Mary, and Justin talks about his countdown to when they will be about to BBQ again. Each one gives his guess on when people will be able to go to a bar again, when they think the next shut down will be for the second wave, and Justin asks the guys what masks they’ve been wearing in being out in public. Scott talks about what the repercussions are for people that are still out in the streets and Justin talks about the latest mask he is wearing. He talks about what other people are wearing for masks and they question the last time they each had spray cheese.

51:04 – Scott talks about their new shirts that were just printed by Shroom Brothers, a listener jumps in and talks about how he’s adjusted to Coronavirus, and their Shroom Brother friends jump into the conversation. Justin poses a would you rather question to the group, the group talks on if this is an actual apocalypse or simply the prequel, and they debate if Amber actually sliced Johnny Depp’s finger. Everyone talks about what they have been doing during the stay-at-home order, Justin talks about the importance for him to wear pants when leaving the house, and Billy from Mary Mart joins the conversation.

Best of - Shroom Brothers

This time the guys play a best of from 2015 where they talked with husband and wife, Bob and Carrie and Bob from Shroom Brothers. Beginning in 2012, Shroom Brothers is a company that sells beautiful originally made art that includes wearable and hangable art in the Tacoma area. All of the art is hand drawn by Carrie and screen printing is done by Bob. People can find their art in 9 different locations around the Tacoma area and check them out online at: shrooombrothers.com.

1:55 – Before the guys dive into the best of, they talk about Brogans visit to the hospital, where fans can find them online, and Jeff’s recent move into his new house. They chat about the upcoming ghost tours, Justin’s weird Tacoma experience when driving into record, and their annoyances with driving. Scott expresses his interest in having the person from The Bounty Hunter Boot Camp on the podcast and where he found them online.

22:03 – Bob gives a detailed description of what the business does, how the two met and got started working together, and the types of media Carrie uses in her art. Carrie discusses creating their first octopus shirt, Bob talks about creating their newest t-shirt, and working with Crimson Graphics of Tacoma. Carrie talks about the different types of art mediums she works in and Bob talks about the first event they sold their shirts at.

34:32 – Bob tells the guys about their recent experience with Spaceworks, their search for a local storefront in Tacoma, and Carrie describes being an artist since she was a child. She talks about her father being a leather worker, winning her first art contest, getting into college, and the importance of having other create people around you. Bob talks about where the Shroom Brothers name came from, other businesses that also have racy names, and what the name means to them today.
